2010 will be a good year for buy to let insurance policyholders as there are plenty of opportunities to purchase property, according to an expert.
James Davis, chief executive of upad.co.uk, said that there are more tenants to the market, also providing plenty of business for buy to let insurance policyholders.
He added that although it used to be taboo to rent, this has changed.
"Actually, it is the smart people that are renting because it is reacting to a flexible working lifestyle. It is reacting to how people are in today's marketplace," said Mr Davis.
He went on to say that people are also attracted to the fact that they have the flexibility to upgrade when they want.
Not being burdened by repairs also makes life easier, Mr Davis continued.
The Association of Residential Letting Agents recently reported that 41 per cent of surveyed members said there were more tenants than properties in the final quarter of the year, compared to 24 per cent in the previous three-month period.
