Arson attacks 'underline importance of commercial property insurance'
A spate of deliberate fires in the north-west of England over the past few days has reminded landlords of the importance of having sound commercial property insurance cover.
Bolton News reported that firefighters from Bolton had been called to deal with a number of arson attacks this week, with several commercial properties being put at risk.
Crews were called out late on Tuesday evening, after trees in Hill View Court, Astley Bridge, were set alight, before piles of rubbish were torched the following night behind the Hare and Hounds pub in Bury Road, Breightmet.
Just two hours later, the firefighters were required at the back of Blackburn Road in Astley Bridge, where a number of industrial bins had been deliberately targeted.
Steve Coote, of Bolton North Fire Station, told the newspaper: "If we are dealing with these fires, we cannot attend an incident which could be more serious. We cannot be in two places at once."
Earlier this month, the value of commercial property insurance was highlighted by a serious fire at Hinchcliffe's Farm Shop in West Yorkshire, which completely destroyed the building and a neighbouring restaurant.
