Buy to let insurance customers 'must use a reputable investment firm'
Written by Jonathan Walker
Buy to let insurance customers looking to get the best possible deal should first ensure that they are using a reputable property investment company, according to one expert.
Dan Sawyer, investment consultant at property investment advisers Assetz, said there are certainly bargains on the market for buy to let insurance customers, but any company they use should have a "good track record".
He added that there are many new firms emerging in the market, but some of the people running these organisations are not experienced enough to know what they are doing.
Mr Sawyer advised: "It is very important that investors go with a good reputable company and just do your research on that company. Make sure that the properties are what they say they are."
His comments came after the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors Global Commercial Property Survey for the third quarter of 2009 revealed that retail expectations among buy to let insurance customers improved slightly.
