Estate agents feeling more positive with rising house prices
Written by Jonathan Walker
Estate agents are feeling more positive about the future months, as house prices are rising "without a shadow of a doubt", according to an expert.
Stuart Law, chief executive of property investment advisers Assetz, says that the opportunity for bargains is never going to be better than at the moment and the best returns on investment were available just before Christmas.
He says that there are many more buyers than sellers in the market at the moment and because there is a huge shortage of properties, prices are going to firm up.
"Estate agents definitely are more positive about the future months, not least because they are selling more than they were previously," Mr Law explains.
He adds that the "bargain basement" properties previously available are now beginning to dry up.
This month, Hometrack reported that the average price of a home stood at £155,000 in May, the same as April's figure.
