Estate agents remain 'sceptical' over Hips
Most estate agents remain sceptical ahead of the implementation of Home Information Packs (Hips) in 2007.
According to Peter Bolton King, chief executive of the National Association of Estate Agents (NAEA), the 92 per cent of estate agents who believe the new law should be repealed have not "altered" their opinion.
The comments follow the Association of Home Information Pack Provider's (Ahipp's) recent claim that its member numbers had increased by ten per cent since August.
Mr Bolton King said: "Ahipp may well have had a few more people get involved but as far as we are concerned those who have been involved in a trial are saying 'Let's see what is going on' they don't necessarily think it is a great idea."
All house sold after June 1st 2007 will require a Hip to be compiled, although some experts believe they have lost much of their authority since the Home Condition Report element of the packs was made non-mandatory.
