French rail upgrade 'to boost property investment opportunities'
Britons used to coping with the dilapidated railways in the UK will likely be astounded by some of the high-speed lines on the continent, with France's TGV service among the swiftest.
But the French are not resting on their laurels as their rail network is undergoing regular expansion, with a new service between Paris and Strasbourg reportedly halving the travel time between the two cities.
Such continued upgrading of the French rail system is good news for investors as the Daily Telegraph says "the development of France's high-speed rail network is opening up potential new markets for overseas buyers".
Strasbourg itself, for example, is now reachable from the UK by rail in just over four and a half hours with a quick change at Paris en route - and all without churning out the high levels of carbon emissions caused by catching a flight.
With such easy access to this destination, as well as villages and towns in the surrounding area, it is unsurprising that UK investors are showing greater interest in the region.
