Industry remains 'confident' about Hips
Industry remains committed to the future of Home Information Packs (Hips), according to the Association of Home Information Pack Providers (Ahipp).
The group believes that Hips will be successfully implemented in June next 2007 and is working closely with the government to ensure as smooth an integration as possible.
Ahipp's roll out, taking place in November, will allow consumers in six selected locations the opportunity to opt for a pack ahead of their mandatory introduction and is designed to demonstrate the benefits of Hips across the market.
Mike Ockenden, director of Ahipp, said he had "no doubt that consumers will see the benefits of packs and their introduction will go ahead as planned".
Expected to cost between £650 and £1,000, Hips will require all people wanting to sell their property to compile a portfolio of information on it, including a Home Condition Report.
