Investors warned over off-season income drop
Investors in European property can see rental income for many months of the year, with some Mediterranean properties lucky enough to get the sun and attract tourists all-year round.
However, many properties will suffer at least a small income drop in the off-season as demand for a place in the sun wanes.
But some destinations may have a harder time than others due to airlines only flying nearby during high season, according to website propertyshowrooms.com.
Andy Welland, a spokesman for the firm, said that some countries have not become well-established enough to convince airlines to fly there all year round, with some small Greek islands or east Europe destinations like Bulgaria receiving fewer flights in the off-season.
However, he pointed out that areas such as Cyprus or Spain can be accessed by UK holidaymakers all year-round.
"Accessibility is not that difficult [with Cyprus]
It's fairly straightforward to get to," he said, adding that it is made easier since "most of the major airlines" fly to the country.
"This is why places like Spain and Portugal are still very appealing," he continued.
"You can still get there all year round at very, very cheap prices. I think once you go outside a three-hour flight-time then it gets very limited."
