Italy offers investment opportunities
Southern Italy is attracting property investment from buyers who thought they would not be able to afford the market, it has been revealed.
Tuscany, in particular, is holding up "fairly well", according to Mark Slaviero, director of Homes in Italy magazine.
A new airport is set to open in Tuscany, the Times has revealed, which could make it an attractive area for those looking for value for money.
Mr Slaviero, said up and coming areas like Calabria and Puglia were gaining a lot of interest despite being less well developed than popular areas of France and Spain.
He explained: "Now you are finding areas that are not as well developed but can compete on price with established countries like France and Spain."
The cost of living in Italy was also found to be beneficial to the buyer, Mr Slaviero said.
Compared to "rip-off Britain", Italy compared favourably and was attracting investment for lifestyle, he revealed.
