Landlord services boss asks property owners: 'why can't we all get along?'
The managing director of EH Landlord Services, Ed Harris has advised property owners to try get along with their tenants, claiming that it will make for a better relationship in the long run.
Speaking at the Landlord and Letting Show in Birmingham, Mr Harris urged landlords to put a proper relationship in place with tenants to avoid any problems later.
This may involve phoning up to check everything is ok with the property or simply popping in now and again to settle any problems. Whatever it takes, Mr Harris believes that a happy tenant equals a much sounder investment when it comes to the buy-to-let market.
Mr Harris told audiences at the show: "The biggest thing that you need to have in place is a relationship with your tenants because if the relationship is not there, then anything can happen. If you are not in touch with your tenants on a regular basis then you can expect all kinds of problems and challenges.
On November 16th 2011, the Council of Mortgage Lenders reported on the "strong growth in the buy-to-let sector".
