Landlords property insurance: Average house price reaches £164,288

New figures have shown that house prices have risen by an average of 7.5 per cent year-on-year between February and March, which could interest those looking at landlords property insurance.
Statistics published by the Land Registry show that the average property in England and Wales is now worth £164,288.
The monthly change has actually fallen by 0.6 per cent, although every region experienced an increase in property values last year.
London and the north-east experienced the greatest monthly rises, increasing by 1.6 per cent, landlords property insurance policyholders may be interested to discover.
During January 2010, the number of house sales completed in England and Wales rose by nearly a third to 34,171.
Earlier this week, LandlordZONE.co.uk director Tom Entwistle claimed that the introduction of letting regulations have presented new problems for casual buy to let insurance policyholders.
He said that experienced professionals are not affected by these complexities as often.
