London offers opportunity for cash-rich buy to let insurance holders
Posted by Dan Winters
There is an opportunity for cash-rich buy to let insurance policyholders to get into the central London property market, according to an expert.
Naomi Heaton, chief executive of London Central Portfolio, said that there remains good prospects for purchasers as the market makes up for lost growth in previous years to recover.
She suggested that the low cost of sterling at the moment is making London particularly attractive to overseas buy to let insurance policyholders.
"It is also a market that is not heavily dependent on mortgages due to the large number of cash-rich buyers," she added.
Ms Heaton suggested that residential property has historically been a good investment in terms of avoiding the effects of inflation and with this set to rise in the UK over the next few years, the London market could become even more attractive.
Primelocation.com recently reported that there has been a surge of high-end properties coming to the market at the beginning of the year.
