More property insurance holders searching for European homes

Searches for homes abroad were up by 100 per cent year-on-year last month, as property insurance policyholders looked to invest overseas, according to the latest research.
Figures from Primelocation.com showed that European countries remained popular among property insurance policyholders, with Switzerland seeing the second highest monthly search increase at 21 per cent.
Spain and France had the biggest share of searches last month, taking 30 per cent and 29 per cent respectively.
The two countries saw the annual change also search rates rise by 120 per cent and 141 per cent year on year, according to the report.
Italy and Portugal also featured in the top five in terms of the share of total searches for November, while Bulgaria, Turkey and Cyprus also made the top ten.
Christopher Chadd, head of research at Property Frontiers, recently said that global property markets need to stabilise, so falls in prices are welcome.
