New scheme to help Knowsley's buy to let insurance policyholders

Landlords in a part of Merseyside are being urged to sign up to a new initiative that gives tenants assurances of the quality of their rented homes.
The Landlord Accreditation Scheme, set to be launched on Wednesday by Knowsley Council, is designed to promote high-quality, well-maintained properties in the area.
Councillor Graham Morgan, cabinet member for regeneration, explained how the voluntary initiative aims to give participating landlords a competitive edge by demonstrating a strong commitment to tenants.
He said: "Tenants are more likely to be attracted to a property that has been accredited by the council and will have more assurance the property will be of a good standard."
Any rental property owners in the borough can join the scheme free of charge by attending a special launch event at the Huyton Suite at 5pm on May 26th.
This comes after the recent announcement that landlord optimism has reached its highest level since 2007.
A study by the National Landlords' Association found that 57 per cent of landlords rated the overall prospects of their lettings business over coming months as good or very good.
