Olympics could provide a hop, skip and a jump for the London property market
The managing director of MyLondonHome, Steven Herd, has claimed that the London 2012 Olympics could showcase London to a wide variety of property owners and investors.
Mr Herd believes that the upcoming Olympics are helping the London property market cope with the recession with sales values and volumes both performing well in the capital.
He also claims that this can continue with the wave of visitors expected for next year's event while he also suggested that prices can be expected to rise steeply in the months running up to the event.
Mr Herd said: "We can liken the Olympic Park to the Millennium Dome. Superb infrastructure put in place for the event, but then because of the uncertainty of its future, it didn't really enter the market as a place of choice to live until the 02 was firmly established."
