Online tool to help with blocks of flats insurance
Written by Dan Winters
A new online tool has been launched which may make it easier for people to sort out blocks of flats insurance.
The resource is located on the Land Registry's website and informs potential blocks of flats insurance customers about whether their property is at risk of flooding.
People using the organisation's Flood Risk Indicator will be able to find out whether the property is located on a flood plain or not, and the tool provides them with the likelihood that the residence will damaged by rising water.
However, the tool has been met with scepticism by some, with former National Association of Estate Agents president Trevor Kent telling the Daily Telegraph: "It's a worry when you get this sort of thing, which could totally kill a sale, or devalue a property, or a building society uses it as a reason not to lend."
Meanwhile, a new tool has been launched by the Homelessness Action Team to help blocks of flats insurance customers combat the risk of overcrowding in social housing.
