People 'don't always understand complications of letting'
Posted by Michael Brown
It is possible that some people are becoming landlords and potentially seeking buy to let insurance without considering all the issues and complications that are involved in the job, according to an expert.
The government's Leasehold Advisory Service (LEASE) recently confirmed that it had seen a greater number of people seeking advice from its team of specialist advisers than ever before.
LEASE predicts that it will deal with over 35,000 direct enquiries this year, a rise over 24 per cent compared to last year.
"It is a very complex area and not everyone in that situation will know the full legal implications of the leasehold, and the obligations they have to the freeholder," commented Tom Entwistle, director of LandlordZONE.co.uk, a portal for buy to let insurance policyholders involved in letting property, both those who are novices and experienced.
He said that normal householders want to let their property for convenience, but there are far-reaching complications that they do not always appreciate.
