Property insurance holders 'see financial benefit in overseas real estate'
Posted by Jonathan Walker
Property owners insurance policyholders are aware that returns on investing in overseas accommodation "far outweigh" the money to be made from savings in a bank account, according to an expert.
Nicholas Marr, chief executive at Homesgofast.com, was commenting on recent figures from Primelocation, which showed that searches for overseas property were up by 11 per cent last month, compared to October.
"Seasoned investors find investing in overseas property interesting and the hunt is part of this, along with conducting research into a particular region," he said.
Mr Marr added that the internet is the perfect place to compare real estate in order to reduce the risk associated with purchasing.
He went on to say that there is lots of buyer activity in France among property owners insurance policyholders.
"Spain at this time is attracting those bemused about what has happened to the market," Mr Marr continued.
The Primelocation figures also showed that the volume of searches for overseas property has almost returned to pre-credit crunch levels.
