Retail insurance cover holders 'performing well'
Written by Jenny Smith
Companies with retail insurance cover are offering better customer service and providing their customers more confidence than the recent Purchasing Managers Index report suggests.
Richard Dodd, head of media and campaigns at the British Retail Consortium, claims that the figures present a more negative picture than is actually the case.
He says that the vast majority of customers are satisfied, with retail insurance cover holders eager to look after their consumers.
"Retailers dont need to be told that customer service is important as they know this and demonstrate it on a daily basis," he asserts.
Mr Dodd says that retail insurance cover holders know they need to draw in consumers if they are to be successful, with numerous factors affecting this.
The Purchasing Managers Index, produced by the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply and Markit, has found that the UK service sector has registered its strongest rise in activity since September 2007.
