Social scene and transport should be considered by property owners

The managing director of FirstRungNow has advised property owners that the social scene of an area as well as its transport links are key to house prices.

With many young property seekers being priced out of the housing market, owners may want to consider renting rooms in such desirable areas, although with rising living costs rent guarantee insurance is a must. 

According to Helen Adams, a variety of factors are involved in making an area desirable to live in with the main ones being transport, schools and a lively social scene. 

Ms Adams said: "I think that the main thing [though,] is probably employment and the fact that there are jobs in the area. Schools are important and people do move to areas for schools."

FirstRungNow.com was founded in 2003 in order to try help first-time buyers find their way to buying property.
