Sofia so good
Economic growth remains stable in Bulgaria and Sofia in particular is a good place to continue property investment, an expert has claimed.
Deborah Fox, director of emerging markets consultancy firm Emerging Real Estate, said prices in the country remain "relatively cheap" despite a 7.5 per cent rise during the third quarter of last year.
Sofia, she said, is a particularly buoyant market where demand continues to outstrip supply as employees of multinational companies look for somewhere to stay.
Ms Fox said "nice" areas in the capital are providing good capital growth.
"Expats particularly are looking for the high-quality end which you can find in those areas," she continued.
"Sofia is doing very well and is a good place to continue investing."
Research by the Association of International Property Professionals earlier this week found Bulgaria to be the leading emerging property market in the world.
