Spain remains first-choice for Britons abroad
Huge numbers of British people choose Spain as their summer holiday destination due to the ease of transport from the UK and its glorious weather - leading the Daily Telegraph to suggest that overseas investors consider a purchase in the nation.
According to the newspaper, some 30 per cent of UK holiday homes are in the Iberian Peninsula, which gives an investor or second-home-buyer a choice over whether they want to be near an ex-patriot community or own a property that is closer to the traditional Spanish way of life.
Taking a look at a number of the most popular regions, the Telegraph gave a positive review to both the traditional lifestyle on offer in the Costa del Azahar as well as the brash tourist haven centred on the Costa del Sol.
Spain's sunshine coast has recently suffered criticism after unscrupulous developers built holiday homes without first getting the proper planning permissions, leaving investors powerless when the government launched a crackdown and demolished many offending properties.
However, the Telegraph reports that the area remains attractive to investors as "Marbella's new mayor restores its reputation and cleans up the planning process".
