Swiss ski chalets 'outperform' general market
Investors have often shown a preference for ski property due to the year-round rental income in some regions, with Switzerland among the most highly valued.
Now ski holiday properties in the country have been highlighted as generating higher incomes than the general market.
Simon Malster, spokesperson for Investors in Property, said: "In the last three or fours years the better ski resorts have out-performed by a long way the general market."
This has resulted in the prices for these properties increasing at a faster rate than elsewhere in the country, although investment is still continuing as hopes are high for sustained growth.
And Mr Malster reported that there were still bargains to be found in the market.
"If it is what we call one of the emerging resorts which is somewhere that is not a household name, then you find that they can buy a chalet at a very reasonable price," he said.
He highlighted the Verbier area as having some chalets that can be snapped up for around £400,000 if investors look hard enough.
