Tip of Italy 'offers tip-top bargains'
Investors in overseas property have been advised to head to the Calabria region in southern Italy to pick up apartments at "bargain" prices.
Overseas investment firm Each Property Med highlighted the area on the 'toe' of Italy's 'boot' as having one-bedroom beachfront apartments for just £32,000 when buying off-plan, with three-bedroom properties not stretching the wallet too badly at £66,000.
Katrina Tasker, spokesperson for Each Property Med, told the Daily Record: "There are still lots of property bargains to be had, but you need to be quick."
Ms Tasker added that those with a larger bank balance can pick up villas with three beds and two bathrooms for £156,000.
"You would pay at least double that amount in Spain," she claimed.
Some areas of interest in Calabria include the town of Reggio Calabria, which is the oldest city in the region and boasts panoramic seaside views, and Stilo with its Norman castle and a beautiful Byzantine church.
