High visibility police patrols have been set up in Greater Manchester, following a spate of armed robberies at bars in the area, highlighting the importance of commercial property insurance, the Manchester Evening News reported.
Pubs and bars in and around the district of Chorlton have been hit by armed raiders in a series of similar attacks over the last two weeks.
Mike Wardell, chairman of the Chorlton Pubwatch scheme, told the newspaper that commercial property insurance customers in the area should remain extra cautious after the incidents.
He said: "All pub managers need to be extra vigilant, especially around closing up time. Any staff or members of the public should also report any suspicious incidents."
Mr Wardell added that CCTV cameras should be installed inside all pubs, bars and clubs, claiming that it could act as a "massive deterrent" to criminals.
Meanwhile, in the private rented sector, buy to let insurance policyholders were advised this week that the north eastern town of Hartlepool has seen a 65 per cent reduction in burglaries across England and Wales since 2002.
