'Fantastic opportunities' in Spain for property insurance policyholders

Within the coming year there will be "fantastic opportunities" for property insurance policyholders to purchase in Spain, according to an expert.
In 2010 and 2011 there will be some "really great quality" homes available at excellent prices, with property insurance policyholders able to take advantage of the depressed market, said Mark Stucklin, head of Spanishpropertyinsight.com.
"That is what the canny buyers will be doing," he insisted.
Mr Stucklin recommended those aiming to purchase should look at the prime end of the market.
"Try to get the best location, best views, good quality in designs at really great prices," he advised.
Mr Stucklin said that prices had returned to where they were eight to ten years ago and that they were unlikely to pick up again this year due to the lack of financing, the economic recession and the weak pound making for a depressed market.
A Place in the Sun recently predicted that Spain would be the top destination for foreign property investment in 2010.
