European property portfolio insurance policyholders with assets overseas could see increased demand as more people are looking to move abroad, according to an expert.
Freelance property reporter Marc Da-Silva said that the likes of France, Spain and Portugal tend to be popular with Brits, along with the English-speaking countries like Australia, Canada and the US.
"Quality of life is generally considered to be better overseas and indeed more affordable," he commented.
"It is much easier to get a foot on the property ladder overseas and start afresh," Mr Da-Silva added.
Young couples and people looking to make a fresh break, as well as retirees will be among those moving abroad, he suggested.
His comments follow a report from NatWest which found that 89 per cent of British expats believe they enjoy a better quality of life abroad.
The research revealed that 90 per cent of Brits living overseas say they are financially secure.
