Property insurance needed after expert suggests market "is all over the place"
25 Jan 2012
Property owners have been reminded of the need for rent protection insurance after a prediction from chief executive at the National Federation of Property Professionals (NFOPP) that the rental market is "all over the place".
Peter Bolton King has suggested that in many areas there is a shortage of property, with some areas reporting a severe shortage. However, this is certainly not the case everywhere, with a mix of prospects across the country.
What was reassuring for owners was that Mr Bolton King did suggest that the demand for rental property across the board is likely to stay strong with research showing that over the next ten years the growth in the private rented sector is going to continue.
Mr Bolton King said: "Growth in the private rented sector is going to continue. It has to because we have got an increasing number of households for various reasons and that is not projected to be met by the owner-occupier sector, so there is going to be continued growth."
The NFOPP was formed in 2007 to facilitate the coming together of specialist divisions within the property sector.
