Property owners urged to be price up competitively
02 Feb 2012
According to Russel + Aitken, Scottish property owners need to ensure that their homes and buildings are competitively priced as it is "incredibly important".
Dianne Paterson, property partner at Russel + Aitken, suggested that for property owners to flourish in the market it was imperative that they secure a competitive price for their portfolio.
On top of this, those looking for a quick sale were also advised to make sure that they were flexible in their negotiations and not appear overly obtuse with potential parties.
Ms Paterson said: "It remains hugely important to ensure that a property is competitively priced. Generally speaking, anyone wishing to secure a quick sale should not only pitch their property at a realistic price, but also show a willingness to negotiate on that price with any prospective buyer."
Knight Frank reported recently that Scottish prime house prices fell by 1.3 per cent in the last quarter of 2011 and decreased annually by 3.2 per cent.
